The University of British Columbia hosted a successful Diabetes, Obesity & Metabolism Research Day on May 27 & 28, 2026 on the beautiful campus of UBC Okanagan in Kelowna BC. 

The 2026 annual academic research meeting attracted 115 scientists including a large delegation from Alberta and delegates from Ontario and Quebec. Hosted by UBC’s BC Diabetes Research Network the attendees celebrated 7 years of building inter campus collaborations, and connecting with the diabetes health research community beyond British Columbia.
